An intelligent sensor network is a distributed signal processing system, which consists of interacting nodes performing real-time data acquisition and signal processing. An overview of this system is presented in Fig.1. A node is basically a low-scale processing unit (a DSP or a microprocessor that performs digital signal processing) that processes discrete data from sensors via AD converters.
